With plenty of disappointment in the West Bromwich Albion fanbase after the first team squad failed to match the owners’ ambitions and investment as we chased an automatic first return to the Premier League this season, and then failed via the Play-Off route, our new head coach search took an interesting turn this week as we were linked with Bundesliga gaffer Bruno Labbadia.
He was certainly a left field addition to the rumour mill when he was linked given the names we had seen, but to save overly repeating the story I’ll copy it in.
West Brom To Chase Top Two Spots With Top Six Manager – Report Suggests A New Name
As soon as the speculation begun given his record over in the German top flight, it was only going to be a matter of time before it gained traction on social media, and the reaction was as you’d expect with plenty being excited as the rediscovery of some real ambition at The Hawthorns down to those who felt it wouldn’t happen in a month of Sunday’s.
Labbadia would be a great appointment. As I think Cowley would. I’d have any of them over most other names linked. Just hope we don’t go for the cheap option in Appleton, I think we’d struggle if we did.

Talk about left field. This would be quite the coup for Albion, despite no experience of English football. Time and again German coaches have proven to be excellent so I would happily take him, and this could be amazing for our young players. Believe it when I see it though.

Exactly, we could maybe get a better manager if we are fishing in the foreign manager but he’d do a fine job if he’s backed. But it’s definitely time to have a foreign man in charge. Would be so refreshing
