With Championship Semi-Final Play-Off disappointment behind us, although still raw, West Bromwich Albion have turned their full attentions to another year in the second tier and of course, there’s the small issue of a new gaffer to consider.

With rumoured financial problems already, let alone a drop in Parachute Payments for next season and an ongoing disinterested owner, our new manager has things to think about before accepting the job – especially as I can only presume anything but the top two again becomes firing squad worthy – fans were mixed at the mention of former Brighton gaffer Chris Hughton, but the mention of Lincoln’s Danny Cowley has certainly got some hot under the collar.

The E&S suggested this week that with two promotions in three years at Lincoln City, 40-year-old Cowley would be on our radar and even former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has been mentioned as a left field candidate.

Cowley certainly struck a chord as being a fresh talented face.
