It’s A Massive Summer For West Brom & Players Have Question Marks Over Their Heads

|

With West Bromwich Albion failing in what was our season mission, a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, thoughts now turn to the Championship 2019/20 campaign and who will be our new permanent head coach and what will the makeup of the squad look like and obviously given the year he has had, Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle features highly on the wanted list.

With his loan now at an end with the curtain drawn on the season, he will be heading back to his parent club and as things stand, Salomon Rondon will be heading back to The Hawthorns.

With the year almost being a success, whilst fans will be hopeful of seeing Rondon head out for his reported £16.5million release fee, and that fee covering the arrival of Gayle, but he’s not the only player with a question mark on his head.

Craig Dawson wanted out over the summer and there’s no reason to believe anything has changed on that front, but there will be concerns over the futures of Jay Rodriguez, Matty Phillips and others like Ahmed Hegazi, Kieran Gibbs and Jake Livermore.

It’s a massive summer on more than one front, but if we get the next appointment right, that can only help us keep our more key players and then attract others to hopefully get the job done next season.

Will the owner and Board’s expectations actually be backed up by making the right choices and showing the required investment?
