West Brom were able to keep their promotion destiny in their own hands on Tuesday night, as they played out a goalless draw with Brentford at The Hawthorns.
Going into the game, the Baggies knew that defeat to Scott Parker’s side would hand third-place Brentford the opportunity to move above them into the second automatic promotion place when they host Preston on Wednesday.
However, in a game of few chances neither side was able to find an opener, with the game ending 0-0.
What that now means is that while Brentford can close the gap to Slaven Bilic’s side on Wednesday, they can not actually go above them, and wins against Huddersfield and QPR in their final two games of the season will guarantee the Baggies automatic promotion.
Was a draw a fair result against Fulham?YesNo |
Even so, there was something of a mixed feeling amongst West Brom fans after the game, with some left frustrated by a failure to find winner against Fulham, and others keen to point the strong position the club are still in in the battle for promotion.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
I'll be honest. Feel deflated

Didn’t lose so could have been worst. Brentford got Preston .Football can be a strange sport let’s remember that . Gonna stay positive that’s the only thing we do . We will finish where we deserve to finish so let’s continue getting behind the boys #wba

2 wins needed now. Or it’s playoffs. Fix up for Friday and we go again.

saying we need to fix up is harsh just take our chances

As much as I feel like we should’ve won in the second half, we should’ve lost based on the first half. A draw is fair but once again we’ve wasted too many chances and it’s effected the end result. Positives to take into Friday including Hegazi and O’Shea playing brilliantly! 👏🏼💪🏻

That will do it played excellent pereira with some unbelievable crosses across the face of the box , strangely looked like Fulham were settling for a point didn’t show any urgency to get the ball forward until injury time

Nervy 1st half much better 2nd half.. @FulhamFC are a very quality team at this level and we had some very decent chances 2nd half and restricted Fulham to very little. Overall happy to take a point and back the boys in the last two matches 💚💛⚪️🔵 still think Preston 2morow👀
