Report: West Brom star attracting interest from European giants

|

Both Celtic and Ajax are interested in signing on-loan West Brom attacker Grady Diangana when the transfer window reopens, a report from The Sun (13/07, p47) has claimed.

Diangana joined the Baggies on a season-long loan from West Ham back in the summer transfer window, and has enjoyed an outstanding campaign with Slaven Bilic’s side, scoring seven goals and providing five assists to help the club mount a major push for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Now it seems as though those performances from the 22-year-old are attracting plenty of attention from elsewhere, with the latest reports claiming that both Celtic and Ajax are interested in a move for the attacker.

Indeed, it is thought that Ajax have already made contact with West Ham to express their interest in Diangana, who only signed a six-year contract at West Ham back in January 2019.

Perhaps not surprisingly therefore, the Hammers are said to be keen to retain the services of Diangana, although they are said to be concerned about the possibility of the player looking to move elsewhere in search of more regular first-team football.

For their part, West Brom reportedly want to make Diangana’s move to The Hawthorns permanent, although the report goes onto suggest that the £15million price tag on the attacker could price the Baggies out of a move.

Will Grady Diangana be playing for West Brom next season?

Yes

No

This therefore, will not be news that anyone associated with West Brom will have wanted to hear.

Given how good Diangana has been for the club this season, you feel they will be absolutely determined to bring him back to The Hawthorns next season.

However, given the level of interest there is from elsewhere, and the size of Diangana’s price-tag, it looks as though it will be incredibly hard for them to do that, and it will be interesting to see just who they turn to to replace Diangana, if they are indeed unable to bring him back.
