Speculation linking us with a move for former Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako has been ticking on in the background for a while now.
With things going quiet on the possibility of a deal being done, former Express and Star journalist Tim Nash – now freelance – took to social media the other day.
Ex- @Wolves winger @sakobakary26 looks set to be announced as @WBA's latest signing. Sako, 30, underwent a medical at Albion earlier this week. A free agent, he turned down a new deal at @CPFC after his contract ended there this summer and has moved back to the West Midlands.

The suggestion is it will be a short-term deal, but whether that means until January or the end of the season – now it can’t be called a 12-month contract – remains to be seen.
It’s fair to say some Wolves fans aren’t bothered by this at all, he gave the Molineux outfit good service during his time with them and stuck with them in League One before departing for the Premier League – but others have thrown their toys out of the pram.
No. I refuse to believe this bit of transfer news.

Much like the deal for Norwich City’s Wes Hoolahan, fans getting that emotional about a transfer always ticks a box for me and it says all the right things about them and what they could do for us, and Sako’s qualities on the ball are well known for anyone who has seen him play.
I’m still not 100% sure where he’d fit in with our other options, but if head coach Darren Moore has a plan, ultimately it’s why he’s in the job and not me! He’d definitely bring something of a different threat either out wide or through the middle though.
