Having made the loan move from West Bromwich Albion out to Scottish giants Celtic during the January transfer window, youngster Oliver Burke has had a decent spell so far by all accounts, and has taken plenty of praise for his efforts for Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Football is football though and playing again in the unfamiliar striker role, he had a less than successful night in midweek (Thursday evening) as Celtic crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of Spanish side Valencia.
Losing 1-0 on the night to give a 3-0 aggregate score, despite scoring three goals and providing two assists in eight starting appearances and two substitute showings, he bore the brunt of the frustrations on social media for their efforts on the night.
Playing we no full backs and Oliver Burke hahahahaha

There are times where Oliver Burke is too fast and too powerful for his own good

Oliver Burke putting in one of the poorest performances here up top. Not a striker in a million years. No hold up or link up play. Got to wonder why Rodgers wastes his talents. Knackered and finished for tonight should of been off 10 minutes ago.#CelticVCF

Oliver Burke’s first touch is terrible.

Problem is, see him on the wing and you’ll realise he’s not a winger either!

Oliver Burke’s first touch is worst than an elephants ????????

Seems a little unfair as fans have been full of praise for him and he was played out of position through the middle, trying to cover their lack of available strikers, but plenty did appreciate it’s not his position.
Let’s hope he bounces back quickly.
