What a season it has been for West Brom.
After the agony of missing out on promotion to the Premier League following a play-off semi-final penalty shootout defeat to Aston Villa last season, there was to be no disappointment this time around.
In their first season under the management of Slaven Bilic, the Baggies secured automatic promotion back to the top-flight of English football following a final day draw with QPR, having sat relatively comfortably in the top two in the Championship table for much of the campaign.
Now, with promotion secured, it is time for the club to start handing out their individual awards for the campaign, starting with the Young Player of the Year.
That prize this season has gone to full-back Dara O’Shea, who has made 17 league appearances, scoring three goals during his first season with the Baggies’ senior side, producing a number of impressive performances in the process.
Taking to Twitter to react to that recognition for O’Shea, plenty of West Brom fans were keen to pay tribute to the 21-year-old for his contributions across the course of the campaign.
Here, we take a look at what some of those supporters had to say.
My defender, this is the guy I look up to. No nonsense defending proper old school. Man like Dara

Congratulations Dara, this is well deserved – you have been so impressive this season 👏🏻

Dara has been the nice surprise this year, genuinely didn’t think he would offer that much, being inexperienced and potentially out of position but I was wrong, and I’m happy to be wrong. What a great season, big international future as well I’m sure!

But I thought people said to close the academy?
Congratulations to O’Shea. Has been excellent and his goals have been some of my favorite. I look forward to seeing more of him next season. Hopefully in his natural position at centreback
