With the summer transfer rumour mill for West Bromwich Albion containing far more departure speculation than it does arrivals at the minute, few fans would’ve been surprised to see news over the weekend which suggested Rafa Benitez’s new club, Dalian Yifang, now had an interest in wantaway striker Salomon Rondon.
Club Make Their Move For West Brom Striker But There Remain Doubts About The Offer
West Brom have long known the 29-year-old would be off but many assumed it would be to last season’s loan club Newcastle United given his words about how he enjoyed his spell there, but Benitez obviously has a pull for him, so if there isn’t Premier League interest, a move to China is certainly not off the cards given the money in the Super League.
We’ll soon see how open the Venezuelan is to the move, as even if Yifang haven’t activated his believed £16.5million release fee, if as reported, their offer is the highest we’ve received so far, at some point we’ll simply accept it.
He will jump at it.. Money will be way better.. He wanted it last time

The moment we came out and said we would be looking at selling Rondon, it automatically knocked down a few million. Teams know we want to sell so they can afford to wait and we’d have to accept. We won’t get anywhere near £16.5m

Didn’t need to announce it. Like we didn’t need to announce we can’t afford Gayle. Damages our bargaining ability immediately. Think we will be lucky to get close to £16m for Rondon.

I reckon he will stay personally.

Think this will drag on till the deadline, leaving us with little chance of spending the money this window.
