The future of young West Bromwich Albion midfielder Rekeem Harper has long been in doubt with the player refusing to sign the new deal that the club put on the table for him and we’ve had significant links with Celtic as being interested in him.
With the turn of the new month, the 19-year-old England youth international is now officially a free agent and it would be a bitter pill to swallow if we saw him move on (like so many others before him) for a nominal fee at best, or at worst for no return at all.
With the players back at the training ground as preparations for the coming 2019/20 Championship campaign continue, Express and Star journalist Matt Wilson took to social media on Monday and did give some hope that the youngster may now actually remain with us.
Rekeem Harper is now a free agent, but he was at the #wba training ground today. Looking increasingly like he may stay and sign his 4yr deal after meeting Bilic last week. But until it's signed…

The only difference I can see is Slaven Bilic coming through the door so maybe that has changed his mind a little, as otherwise I’d assume he’d have been elsewhere.
These fans will certainly be gutted if we are just simply helping him to get fit, although not everyone is on the same page to be honest.
Hope he does!

Tremendous potential. Hope he stays

Would be quite a cheek to train at a club you have turned down a contract with what’s now run out if you have something else lined up I’d imagine he must be close to signing a new contract

Hope he stays, don’t get peoples issues with him. Huge potential.

Would like him to sign buy still has a lot to learn. But it seems like Bilic has a bit of an aura about him, this may just sway him. If not I fear he may turn into another Berahino, basically getting money for nothing.
