Last month it was being claimed that West Bromwich Albion were already in talks with Academy Graduate Nathan Ferguson over a new contract given his impressive adjustment to life in the first team.
The reaction to the news of a new deal for the 19-year-old talent was pretty predictable given the problems the club have had with youngsters previously, but a recent update from the Telegraph suggests we could be close to sealing a five year deal with him.
It would certainly be a good additional boost given the start to the campaign we’ve had and Ferguson has already got ten Championship appearances under his belt and continues to get regular action filling in at both defensive flanks.
With it seeming that this will be one youngster who doesn’t get away from us, like so many previously, a number of fans on social media discussed what they thought he was already worth in the current market – and opinions were mixed.
Atm no more than £5 mil, he's still young and learning his trade

With the way the transfer market goes anywhere from 1million to 40 million. Personally I think he is invaluable to us but the transfer market is so unpredictable
