Baggies Word On The Tweet

Report: Further details emerge as encouraging West Brom financial update shared

West Brom are set to receive around £10m in the coming months from previous transfers, which should ensure they cope with the current crisis.

As we know, no football has been played in England since March and that has had a serious impact on the finances of clubs up and down the country, as had been predicted. Various clubs have been forced to take action with Arsenal the most high-profile team to agree a pay cut with their players as a result of what has gone on.

Despite that, Albion have not gone ahead with any cuts or pay deferrals with the players, although chief executive Mark Jenkins is working for free right now. Nevertheless, the club are in a healthy state overall and a report from the Telegraph outlined why.

Will West Brom be in the Premier League next season?

Yes

No

They explained how the Baggies will bring in around £10m from a few sales that took place in the past. The update states that a further £5m is due from Burnley after they signed Jay Rodriguez last summer and the same amount will arrive from the deals that took Craig Dawson to Watford and Salomon Rondon to Dalian Yifang.

That will be a welcome boost to West Brom at this critical time and any financial issues are sure to be eased significantly if the club win promotion to the Premier League. And, that looks highly likely as they are six points clear of third-placed Fulham with just nine games to play, whilst it was announced yesterday that the EFL want to go with points per game to decide the campaign if it is cut short.
