West Bromwich Albion went into Saturday’s Championship clash with Leeds United with not a lot to shout about given our form and results in recent matches, but the tide certainly turned again at The Hawthorns as we hosted Marcelo Bielsa’s former table toppers.
The visitors had the majority of the ball, but we were tight at the back and explosive at the other end of the pitch and we took a much needed, and memorable, 4-1 victory with Hal Robson-Kanu, Matt Phillips, Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle getting on the scoresheet.
With such an emphatic victory the players to the fans took a massive shot of confidence from that and it was the perfect way to go into November’s international break. With growing criticism of head coach Darren Moore in the more recent run, it was time for fans on social media to lavish him and the side with praise after that one.
Best performance of the season! Cracking atmosphere too. I’ve been one of Big Dave’s critics recently but credit where it’s due, he got it absolutely spot on today. Massive well done to him, boing boing!

Let’s hope it continues when Championship action returns at the end of the month and fair play to those Leeds fans who were gracious in defeat as well.
