Baggies Word On The Tweet

‘Finally arrived’, ‘Delighted’ – Seeing this man score meant an awful lot to West Brom fans last night

|

West Brom fans had been waiting a long time to see the best of Charlie Austin this season. The English striker joined the Baggies from Southampton for a fee of £4m (BBC) over the summer, and he was yet to show his talents. However, the last week we’ve seen what he’s about.

The ex-Premier League striker had failed to make his mark in the Championship for his new club, yet he bagged a late penalty against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday to ensure a 2-1 win at The Hawthorns, and then last night despite featuring for just seven minutes he scored his third Championship goal (Transfermarkt).

It looks like the 30-year-old has finally arrived at The Hawthorns and will be desperate to kick on, score goals and help the Baggies extend their lead at the top of the Championship. The fans are all on board too, and that was as clear as ever as they celebrated their man’s goal yesterday.
