Report: Agent of West Brom star confesses client hasn’t ‘been officially approached’ by clubs

Matheus Pereira’s agent Jolden Vergette has admitted that the Brazilian winger is yet to be approached by a club after a brilliant start to life in the Championship.

The Sporting Lisbon attacker has been one of the Baggies best performers this season, with stats from Transfermarkt showing that Pereira has already scored three goals and racked up 10 assists in the Championship.

Pereira’s form has been a big reason as to why Slaven Bilic’s side find themselves in the automatic promotion spots in the table, and the 23-year-old’s performances have resulted in the Sporting attacker being rumoured with a move to Manchester United as reported by The Mirror.

Is Matheus Pereira the best player in the Championship?

Yes

No

Yet speaking to Sport Witness, Pereira’s agent confirmed that his client is yet to be approached by a club about a future transfer, with Vergette saying: “It’s natural that his good form should attract the interest from other clubs. But we haven’t been officially approached by any sides so far.”

With the report claiming that West Brom have an option to permanently buy the Brazilian attacker at the end of this season if Pereira hits a certain amount of appearances for the Championship club or the Albion clinch promotion to the Premier League, it is likely that the youngster’s next move will be calling the Baggies home at the end of this campaign.

As stats from Transfermarkt show, Pereira has already managed 15 Championship appearances for West Brom this season, starting all but three games for Bilic’s side in large part due to the Brazilian’s versatility.

Pereira has been a crucial player for West Brom this season, and the club and supporters will seemingly be thrilled if the Brazilian was to remain with the Albion beyond this campaign.
