West Brom Were “Off Colour” In Forest Clash – Moore Questions Championship Schedule

|

West Bromwich Albion welcomed Nottingham Forest to The Hawthorns for tonight’s midweek Championship clash as we looked to close the gap further on the top two in the second tier table.

Head coach Darren Moore saw his side dominate that opening 45 minutes but six minutes in Forest had the advantage as Stefan Johansen was deemed to have put through his own net. Fellow January arrival Jacob Murphy opened his club account in the 54th minute to draw us level and it was the least we deserved at that stage.

The visitors restored their advantage just after the hour mark, but West Brom kept plugging away and Jay Rodriguez salvaged a point in the 89th minute as he scored from the penalty spot.

Not what Moore would’ve been hoping for but we dominated without making it count, so take the point and move on.

Speaking to the BBC following the game, Moore explained.

“I’m delighted with the point because tonight’s performance was a bit lethargic. Maybe for the first time, is that the volume of games that we’ve been playing in the Championship? The only reason I say that is because all 11 were off colour tonight. But we kept on right to the end and that determination won us a point.”
