West Brom facing disappointment as club’s stance on transfer target revealed

|

West Ham have no intention of selling attacker Grady Diangana in the summer transfer window, a report from football.london has claimed.

Diangana enjoyed an outstanding season-long loan at The Hawthorns during the 2019/20 campaign, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists to help the Baggies win automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The Midlands club had been linked with a permanent move for Diangana ahead of their return to the top-flight of English football, although it looks as though they will be left disappointed.

According to the latest reports, West Ham are not planning on selling the 22-year-old, despite the fact that they may have to sell in order to sign players during the summer transfer window.

It is thought that West Ham boss David Moyes is a fan of Diangana, and sees him as a big part of the clubs future, with five years remaining on the attacker’s contract with the Hammers, securing his future at The London Stadium until the end of the 2024/25 season, and putting the club in a strong position to negotiate any offers that come in for him.

Do you expect Diangana to play regularly for West Ham next season?

Yes

No

This will of course be disappointing news for those of a West Brom persuasion, but it should probably not be much of a surprise.

Considering the quality of his performances for the Baggies in the season just gone, it would have been a huge boost to bring him back to the club ahead of the return to the Premier League.

However, those contributions from Diangana at The Hawthorns have clearly not gone unnoticed at West Ham, so you can understand why they will want to retain his services and look to benefit from his quality themselves in the coming campaign.

Indeed, that contract Diangana has at The London Stadium means the Hammers have plenty of time to do that, and indeed make a decision on his future, meaning there is no need for them to make rash decisions about the future of the attacker over the next few weeks.
