Transfer News: Leeds ready to steal a march on West Brom with £18m bid for 38-goal ace

|

West Brom fans are desperate to see their side make the jump from the Championship to the Premier League, and it looks like they have a brilliant opportunity to do just that this season, although it looks like they have to fight with Leeds United for the top spot.

The Baggies, though, could be set to lose out on the Championship title to the Whites, seeing as West Brom could be set to lose out on one of their transfer targets to their promotion rivals, as Birmingham Live has come in with news of the latest January transfer twist.

The man in question is Hull City’s young Jarrod Bowen, and the news is that the winger, who has bagged an incredible 38 goals since the start of the 2018/19 season (Transfermarkt), could be set to leave for Leeds in the comings days. This would be a major blow to Slaven Bilic, though.

The article claims that the Elland Road hierarchy are looking to tempt Bowen to Yorkshire by offering Hull a £3m loan fee and then a further £15m to sign him permanently should Marcelo Bielsa’s side make the jump from the second tier to the Premier League this season.

The article claims:

‘The Whites want to add quality rather than quantity this month and, it’s being claimed, are proposing a £3m loan deal until the end of the season, with another £15m being offered should they secure promotion to the top flight.’

‘It remains to be seen whether Hull would consider such an offer, though they’ve reportedly rejected the advances of an interested party earlier this month.’

Will Slaven Bilic guide us back to the Premier League?

Yes

No

‘Albion like Bowen too. He is understood to be one of the names they’re mulling over this month as Slaven Bilic looks for two additions that will raise the overall quality of his existing group.’
