The other day it was reported that former England goalkeeper Ben Foster was a target for Watford this summer.
Following relegation from the Premier League, the suggestion was basically that he would be open to taking a final shot at life in the top-flight given his tender 35-years-of-age status.
Foster has, of course, spent two season’s at Vicarage Road earlier in his career and on face value that seemed to be the main driver for the rumour and I originally questioned why he would move to play potential No 2 to Heurelho Gomes. Thanks to a bit of feedback though, regular action could be waiting for Foster if he made the switch.
Following the initial report, follow up pieces have questioned if a reported fee of £10million was correct, whether or not West Brom should cash in owing to his age to give us a bit more leeway financially as we prepare for life in the Championship.
There remains nothing concrete in the reports and they get regurgitated online, but fans are clear on what they want to happen next.
And seeing as how we've just released our other keeper, and given our recruitment faffing,i'd be amazed if we'd do that.

We've just let Myhill go, so there is zero chance of us selling Foster. #wba

In my option this is a nine starter Foster going now where he already stated that and agree best goalkeeper we have ever had #wba

Agree and tbf, he’s good enough for a few more years yet. Been our best keeper since Godden in my opinion.

I wouldn’t sell even if the bid is true , why sell the best keeper in the league, and we want players at the club who genuinely feel for it as Fozzy does

I really hope he stays
