Darren Wants Moore Foundations At West Brom But Club Must Support Him

|

New permanent West Bromwich Albion head coach Darren Moore welcomed the first-team back to training on Monday for the testing sessions after their summer break, and today the group make the trip out to Faro for a six-day training camp as our pre-season preparations continue.

Following relegation from the Premier League last season and with the Baggies preparing for life in the Championship in 2018/19, the camp will give Moore the perfect chance to see what spirits are like and start building the mentality and attitude he wants from the group this year. Helping that will be the way we ended the season and the boost of confidence players can take from that which will have an offsetting effect to some degree on disappointments.

This stage of pre-season is always tough and Moore knew how important it was for us to get the baseline right and then everything should naturally follow from that as we approach the year ahead.

Speaking to wba.co.uk he explained that with the assessments done, it was time for the ‘hard yards’ as it’s vital we get this period right.

“It is more important than ever that the players are in the best possible shape fitness-wise. The Championship has a challenging schedule and it’s one we will need to be prepared for. This week will also be an opportunity to bring the players together and further strengthen the team spirit that served us so well at the end of last season.”

Fans more than took to the thrust of his words but it’s clear they want the club to support him and that begins with strengthening for the campaign ahead.
