Report: West Brom enter race for in-demand Premier League player

|

West Brom have joined the race to sign Liverpool attacker Rhian Brewster, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed.

Brewster enjoyed an impressive second half of the season out on loan in the Championship with Swansea, earlier this season, and it seems as though his long term future at Anfield is yet to be decided.

According to the latest reports, West Brom are among a long list of clubs interested in the 20-year-old, with Liverpool yet to decide if the striker will leave permanently or on loan this summer.

It is thought that a permanent move for Brewster would cost at least £20million, plus future add-ons, while a loan move would include penalty fees if the attacker is not given a certain amount of playing time.

As many as ten clubs are said to be interested in Brewster, including the Baggies’ Premier League rivals Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United.

With West Brom still in need of striker to lead their line competitively in the top-flight this season, they could probably do worse than Brewster, who was prolific for play-off chasing Swansea at the back end of the previous campaign.

That does suggest that he could be effective for Slaven Bilic’s side this season if they can get him, although the size of the Baggies’ budget may be an issue considering Liverpool’s asking price.

You feel therefore that a loan move may suit West Brom better at this moment in time, although that may make things difficult for them if another club makes a lucrative permanent offer for the striker.
