Report: West Brom enter race for £20million-valued attacker

|

West Brom are the latest team to take an interest in signing QPR attacker Eberechi Eze, a report from The Guardian has claimed.

In what has been a fairly underwhelming season for QPR, Eze has once again been an outstanding feature of the club’s campaign.

The 22-year-old attacker scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in total for Mark Warburton’s side this season, something which perhaps not surprisingly seen him linked with a number of Premier League sides recently, and it seems that interest is continuing to grow.

According to the latest reports, the Baggies and local rivals Aston Villa have become the latest clubs to enter the battle for the attacker’s signature, although they are not alone in that race, with fellow Premier League sides Crystal Palace, West Ham and Newcastle all also keen on signing the attacker.

If they are to bring Eze to The Hawthorns however, it will not be cheap for West Brom to do so, with QPR reportedly demanding £20million for the 22-year-old’s signature, which would be a club-record fee for the Baggies.

Would you like to see Eze at The Hawthorns next season?

Yes

No

Even so, this would surely be a big boost for the club if they were to pull it off.

It does seem as though the Baggies need to add a goalscorer to their ranks if they are to be competitive in the Premier League next season, and Eze’s record is one that suggests he can both score goals, and create them for others, which could make him an invaluable for Slaven Bilic’s side if they pull this off.

Indeed, with the level of interest there is in Eze from elsewhere in the Premier League, winning this particular transfer battle would be a big statement of intent from the newly-promoted Baggies, and give them a huge lift in confidence ahead of their return to the top-flight in a few week’s time.
