Report: WBA prodigy attracting interest from EFL and Premier League sides heading into January

|

West Brom teenager Rayhaan Tulloch has garnered attention from the likes of Aston Villa, Southampton, Newcastle United as well as a whole host of Championship and League One sides.

The Daily Mail report that the 18-year-old attacker was watched by plenty of scouts at last night’s U-23 match against Manchester United in which Tulloch has been in sensational form in recent weeks, with the youngster scoring three goals in his last four games for the Albion at youth level.

Leeds United, Stoke City and Sunderland are also reportedly keeping an eye on Tulloch’s progression in West Brom’s development sides with the striker finding it hard to break into Slaven Bilic’s first-team with a wealth of attacking options already ahead of the England U-18 international in the pecking order.

Do West Brom have the best squad in the Championship?

Yes

No

A loan move in January could be the ideal next step for Tulloch as opportunities in the first-team remain few and far between, with stats from Transfermarkt showing the versatile attacker has only made two senior appearances for West Brom playing over an hour of football in the FA Cup last season against Brighton.

Indeed, it is clear that Tulloch could follow in the footsteps of Nathan Ferguson and Kyle Edwards in becoming the next academy star to nail down a first-team spot under Bilic, but with attacking talent such as Charlie Austin, Hal Robson-Kanu and loan stars Grady Diangana and Matheus Pereira already thriving in the starting XI, a few months out on loan could do the Albion youngster some good.

With Tulloch being monitored by some of the biggest clubs in the country, West Brom need to be cautious to underuse the youngster to such a degree that the attacker will want to leave the club for good in search of first-team football, but a loan move heading into the New Year could exactly be what the 18-year-old needs to continue his progression as a player.
