Report: Further details emerge as West Brom prepare to secure €10m signing

|

West Brom plan to sign midfielder Filip Krovinovic on a permanent basis if they win promotion to the Premier League in a deal that would cost €10m.

Albion brought the classy playmaker to the club on an initial loan deal from Benfica in the summer and Krovinovic did take time to settle in England. However, he was a regular in the team prior to this enforced break and he has played 31 games, scoring twice and registering four assists, for the Baggies to help them to second in the Championship with just nine games to play.

Therefore, his contribution to the promotion push has been clear to see and reports from Portuguese outfit Record claim that a €10m transfer will go through if Albion are a Premier League club next season.

Will West Brom be in the Premier League next season?

Yes

No

Obviously, the club would not be willing to commit to such a deal without the financial benefits that promotion brings, whilst Krovinovic may not be open to another season in the Championship. However, the player has stated in the past that he is enjoying his time with West Brom and he also revealed it’s his dream to play in the top-flight in England.

The immediate challenge for Krovinovic and all his teammates will be to ensure they finish the job and do achieve promotion. It looks as though that will be done on the pitch, as the Baggies want, as the Premier League took a step closer to returning to action today and it seems likely the Football League will follow suit, with the hope to play the remaining fixtures next month.
