Sometimes a player comes along who is never on the scoresheet yet does all the dirty work to make themselves a hero on the pitch, and for West Brom fans, that man is Claudio Yacob.

He’s magic you know?
A signing that literally nearly cost Dan Ashworth his life. Definitely turned out to be a risk worth taking we think. A modern day hero.

The defensive midfielder was a centre-piece for the Albion for a good six seasons, with stats from Transfermarkt showing that Yacob made 175 appearances for West Brom, scoring just twice for the club during their Premier League years.
Do West Brom have the best squad in the Championship?
Yes
No
The 32-year-old midfielder departed West Brom a real fan favourite in 2018 after six years with the club, and supporters on social media have been showing their love to their former anchorman following a tweet from Baggies Vault reminiscing about the former Racing Club player’s time at the Hawthorns.
Here’s what West Brom fans had to say about Yacob on Twitter, with plenty of fans having fond memories of the Argentine defensive midfielder…
One of my favourite players from last 10 years. Did all the nasty stuff really well. Could have done a job for us for a while after he left I thought.
