West Brom are on course to return to the Premier League this season and if it happens it would be the third promotion that Chris Brunt has won at the club.
The midfielder is a legend at The Hawthorns having spent 13 years in the West Midlands. Whilst he has made just five league appearances this season, Brunt starred on the other occasions Albion went up. That included scoring the decisive goal against Southampton back in 2008 that secured promotion.
Should Chris Brunt be given a new contract?
Yes
No
With the left-footed strike coming 12 years ago today, the club decided to look back at the effort on Twitter. with Albion trailing 1-0 with six minutes to go, it was a significant moment for the club, with Brunt controlling a cross well before smashing in from just inside the box.
Brunty's sweet left foot effectively fired us back to the @premierleague #OTD ๐๐ years ago. ๐๐ฅ

The goal prompted wild celebrations in the stands and it would give the Baggies a lead that Hull couldn’t realistically catch in the race for automatic promotion.
So, it’s fondly remembered and here we look at some of the comments to Brunt’s big contribution on Twitter…
