Peter Odemwingie has targeted a return of 15 goals this season, not only beating Rob Earnshaw’s Premiership tally, but also his personal best.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Odemwingie said he’d be delighted to take the record of 11 Prem goals from Earnshaw in the Great Escape, but given he only needs one more to take that title, he’d much rather beat his own personal record of 14 goals in a season and bury 15 this campaign.

‘If I get more than 11 I will be happy with that. But my target is still to beat my own record. There are 6 games to go and it is possible to get 15 especially if they give me every penalty!’

It’s a credit to Peter that despite how we’ve been struggling this year that he’s managed to notch up 11 goals already and find himself in the Top 6 scorers in the league, especially then when you think he’s ahead of Rooney and Drogba.

Taking the record and even getting the next one would be a just reward for his effort this season.
