Carson Passes Bursaspor Medical

It looks likely that Scott Carson will be announced as a Bursaspor player later today after a fee was agreed and a medical was passed.

There are a number of reports circulating that speculate the fee is somewhere between £2m and £3m for the 26 year old, and it’s believed he is looking to Turkey for a completely fresh start after disappointments at Liverpool, Aston Villa and with England.

He had his moments last season, but ended very strongly so I am surprised to see him move on if that turns out to be the case. A confidence keeper if you’ve ever seen one, but I thought he would thrive under Roy Hodgson myself.

For anyone who speaks Turkish, what I think is the Bursasport official site might make interesting reading, failing that you might appreciate Carson bringing the ‘vest’ back, but either way Google translate wasn’t very helpful as I’m sure he didn’t pass the medical ‘as a general surgeon’ unless he’s going for a complete career change.

With news of his impending departure the rumour mill is in overdrive on our search for a replacement, as well as cover with Kiely hanging up his gloves, and whilst the rumours surrounding Thomasz Kuszczak are still strong, we are now being linked with Newcastle’s Steve Harper, West Ham’s Robert Green, and Manchester City’s Shay Given.
