Head coach Tony Pulis was again lavishing praise on former Manchester United centre half Jonny Evans following his individual performance in the victory over Newcastle United yesterday.
Taking the one nil victory – the first win in six attempts for the club of late – courtesy of a late Darren Fletcher effort, Pulis was obviously pleased to see the side pick up all three points and avoid more referee and penalty controversy, but Evans in particular came in for praise for his ‘immense’ showing on the day.
Skipper and goalscorer Fletcher was also interviewed following the game, and he was asked about Saido Berahino and the ongoing rumblings and lack of inclusion for the talented youngster – who did get a 20 minute run out in the game.
He explained that he felt the striker was frustrated at the club given everything that has gone on.
