West Brom’s Premier League season continued with a one-nil win over Newcastle at the Hawthorns on Monday.

A first win in six-matches (as the title says) was secured by West Brom to end the year on a positive note just when a draw was looking likely!

Newcastle would have been ahead but for Paul Dummett seeing his header come off the woodwork with the Baggies also denied when Victor Anichebe did likewise.

The winner came when Darren Fletcher headed home a Claudio Yacob cross 12-minutes from time with Newcastle’s debutant ‘keeper Karl Darlow making a mess with his attempted save.

These were the other results.

What a cracker at Goodison Park, a seven-goal thriller saw Stoke continue a good season with a four-three win with Arsenal also securing a win to recover from the Boxing Day mauling against Southampton (who then went and lost two-one at West Ham) with a win over Bournemouth at the Emirates to put them top.

The goalless draw at Old Trafford didn’t really do much to improve the season for either Man United or Chelsea with Spurs helping their own top four (given their not too far off the top, you have to say title) chances any harm with a two-one win at Watford.
