The transfer of George Thorne to Derby County seems to be progressing well as the Rams have now confirmed that a fee has been agreed.

With Thorne being left out of the squad that travelled the other day, it did look increasingly likely that he would get his wish and make the move, so this comes as no great surprise really.

A statement on Derby County’s website reads.

‘Derby can confirm they have agreed an undisclosed fee with West Bromwich Albion for George Thorne. The Rams have been given permission to speak to the 21 year old midfielder and should personal terms be agreed, he will undergo a medical. It is hoped that Thorne will sign in time to travel with Derby’s squad for their pre season tour of Austria on Sunday.’

There is no official word from Albion yet, but it can surely only be a matter of time before personal terms are sorted now.
