It’s being reported that West Bromwich Albion could be set to break their record transfer fee to secure the signing of striker Brown Ideye.

The 25 year old is contracted to Dynamo Kyiv but it’s reported that he held talks with Albion officials this morning, and has since undergone a medical with the club.

Details are pretty sketchy, but it’s suggested we have gained permission to speak to him after agreeing a £10million transfer fee with his current club, and it’s hoped the club can officially announce him on Monday but we obviously need to secure international clearance and a work permit first.

The player has scored 33 goals in 74 games for the Ukraine side, and in 23 appearances for his country he has scored five times.

Ideye could move to us having gained experience in Europe in his time with the club and he has also played for French club Sochaux and Swiss based Neuchatel Xamax.

Stephene Sessegnon is currently our record transfer at a reported £6million but clauses in Victor Anichebe’s deal could see him rise above that himself in time.
