West Brom Youngster Released Early From League Two Loan Spell

|

West Bromwich Albion Academy graduate Kyle Howkins headed back to Vale Park on the January transfer window deadline for a second spell with Port Vale.

He knew the club well having spent the second half of the 2017/18 campaign out with there where he made ten appearances, returning one goal. This spell, it’s not unfair to say, hasn’t gone well. He’s only made two starts for them, with an additional showing from the bench – although two of those games did come in early April.

With problems on and off the pitch for the Valiants, the Stoke Sentinal were reporting yesterday that he had now returned to us ahead of the campaign as they want to assess their own options ahead of the coming season, given only one game remains.

Unfortunately, more than anything, it seems the timing of the loan deal did the real damage as he did impress Neil Aspin first time around, hence why he wanted the return, but Aspin was given his marching orders on the very deal the loan deal went through.
