West Brom are trying to arrange a loan deal for Tottenham Hotspurs 19-year-old teenager, Adel Taarabt.

As Tony Mowbray looks to strengthen his squad for his first season as a Premier League manager, the Daily Mail Website has suggested that he is pursuing a season long deal for Adel Taarabt.

With an abundance of skill it is easy to see the appeal of the French wonderkid, however question marks have been raised over his end product. He is also somewhat shy of experience, being used infrequently by Martin Jol and featuring even less under Juande Ramos.

With skilled youngsters at the club in MacDonald and Worrall, not to mention established wingers such as Brunt in the squad, the signing of Taarabt would mean competition for a place in the team was huge – unless this transfer chase results in another midfielder leaving the club on a temporary or perhaps permanent basis.

Taarabt first came to prominence as a 17 year old, making an instant impact on the Premiership when his scintillating running gave Spurs the initiative to edge out West Ham in an eight goal thriller. Despite this he has only made six league outings in two years at the north London club. Is this a great opportunity to see a great developing talent at the Hawthorns? Or should Mowbray be looking at experienced heads with the tight loan restrictions placed on top flight transfers?
