Simon Cox Checks In Early

Simon Cox has returned to training early in order to continue his progress from last season.

With most players returning on Monday for pre season tests, 24 year old Cox has checked in at the training ground early to give himself a headstart.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Cox said.

‘It was a very good season for me, so this season is about establishing myself and getting games in the team…establishing myself as a Premier League player, I know I’ve proven nothing yet.’

It certainly was a good season for the youngster after he worked his way into Hodgson’s plans and he’s had an interesting summer break as well in gaining his Republic of Ireland debut, playing four games, and scoring twice.

Coming back early shows a great attitude to push himself on further, especially as with the international games he could’ve asked for a little extra time off as many players do.
