Nicky Shorey is loving life under Roy Hodgson given the boss has returned him to first team action.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail the former Villan said he was very happy to be back in the match day squad after being frozen out by the former manager and he’s hoping that his form is repaying the faith Hodgson has shown in him.

‘I’ve played the last few games now and I’m delighted to be given that chance to play again. It was frustrating when I was out of the team. But I’ve had a chance and am now doing all I can to make the most of it.’

Shorey has been full or praise for the new gaffer ever since he arrived, especially as he previously had experience of Hodgson during a loan spell at Fulham, so he’s not surprised to see Roy making the changes he has done on the training pitch because they are obviously having a good impact on our chances for points.

Onwards and upwards for Arsenal now, unless it’s rearranged.
