Roy Hodgson was thrilled to see the Baggies pick up our first 3 points of the season and has hailed the character of the players for going right to the final whistle.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the 1-0 victory, Hodgson said.

‘If you’ve had a bad start to the season, although in my opinion we haven’t played that badly, that does add to the nervousness and the importance of getting a result. I was really disappointed today that we didn’t get that second goal because that would’ve calmed everything down and we’d have shown more composure, but it’s easy for me to sit on the bench and demand composure.’

With the late onslaught from Norwich when it was a true backs to the wall end of a game, Hodgson was more delighted to see us keep the cleansheet given the late goals we have seen us concede this season. Seeing the players do all they needed to in order to keep the net empty is a huge plus to take from the game.
