Norwich manager Paul Lambert has revealed that striker James Vaughan has been taken to hospital and will see a plastic surgeon following a clash with Gabriel Tamas.

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail Lambert explained the seriousness of the facial injury received when Vaughan caught Tamas’ elbow late in the game.

‘James has gone to see the plastic surgeon at the minute, and it is a bad one. It has gone straight through the lip and and they just can’t stitch it up. Hopefully we will sort it tonight, and we will have to see how he is.’

Roy added.

‘I looked at it, and as he turns, Tamas catches him with his elbow, but I am 100% convinced it is unintentional. It was unfortunate, but it does not make it any better for Vaughan, it’s still a painful blow.’

All the best James, never like to see a player with a serious injury after a game.
