Following yesterday’s draw to Villa, Albion remain nine points clear of our local rivals and with only two games remaining we have secured the local bragging rights for this season – the first in 33 years!
Speaking to wba.co.uk after the game, Hodgson firstly dealt with the Hutton handball.
‘We can feel aggrieved if we want because there was a clear penalty decision that didn’t go in our favour. If you take the way the game panned out, I think maybe not 0-0 because both teams could have scored, but a draw was probably fair.’
Moving on from the game though, Roy couldn’t wait to speak about the breaking of yet another hoodoo this season.
‘I’m happy to confirm for the first time in goodness knows how many years we’re going to finish above Aston Villa in the table, so it’s not a bad day. It could have been a wonderful day – but one mustn’t be too greedy.’
