Report: West Brom’s chances of landing European international this window are ‘next to zero’

|

West Brom’s chances of signing Mislav Orsic this January are all but over after the Croatian’s camp have declared the attacker will remain at Dinamo Zagreb this month.

The Birmingham Mail report that the Baggies chances of signing the 27-year-old this transfer window are ‘next to zero’ after Orsic’s team ruled out a move to the Championship side this month as well as West Brom zoning in on other attacking targets, with Football Insider claiming that Hull City forward Kamil Grosicki and Newcastle United winger Christian Atsu are all on Slaven Bilic’s radar.

The Croatian international has been linked with a move to West Brom for the majority of the transfer window, with the Albion manager even admitting to The Express and Star that the club were interested in the Dinamo attacker after a breakout season with Zagreb which has seen Orsic net a hat-trick in this year’s Champions League group stage.

Will West Brom make another signing before the deadline?

Yes, Bilic knows we need signings

No, we've wasted too much time

With Bilic also confirming this week that he is looking to sign at least two attacking players as per The Express and Star, with West Brom shortly after announcing the signing of Sheffield United attacker Callum Robinson on loan, it appears the Baggies boss has had a change of heart about Orsic and is instead pursuing cheaper alternatives with just under 24 hours of the window left remaining.

With Orsic’s camp not ruling out a move in the future for the Croatian international, West Brom could find themselves back in for the Dinamo star should the Baggies secure promotion to the Premier League this season, and Bilic being a national hero in his home country, the 27-year-old attacker could be open for a move to England when the next transfer window comes around in the summer.
