Report: West Brom eager to sign £10m-valued, 15-cap ace Bilic is ‘a huge admirer of’

West Brom are eager to make Filip Krovinovic’s loan deal a permanent one in the summer transfer window following a fantastic season for the versatile midfielder.

The Express and Star report that the Baggies are eager to bring the Croatian to the Hawthorns on a full-time deal after an impressive campaign with West Brom, after joining on a year-long loan deal from Benfica and making 34 appearances in all competitions for Slaven Bilic’s side since.

The Baggies are already close to completing the permanent signing of one loan player in Matheus Pereira with The Telegraph reporting he is set to join from Sporting Lisbon for £8.5m once the Championship season resumes, and Bilic is seemingly keen on doing the same for Krovinovic.

With the report claiming that Benfica will seek around £10m for the 15-time Croatia youth international, West Brom could be in a good position to sign Krovinovic permanently once the transfer window opens for business, with the Albion likely to haggle with Benfica to lower their asking price for the 24-year-old.

With the report also stating that Bilic is ‘a huge admirer of his fellow countryman’, the Baggies manager will seemingly try as hard as he can to push Benfica and West Brom into allowing Krovinovic to join the Championship side for good. And with a base asking price set at close to £10m, the former West Ham boss could be in with a strong chance of signing the midfielder this summer.

Krovinovic has established himself as a solid member of Bilic’s first-team this season, with the Benfica man featuring in all but six Championship games, and if the Baggies can clinch promotion into the Premier League, the Croatian midfielder will be an excellent addition to the squad going into the top-flight, where West Brom will need all the quality they can get.
