Report: Semi Ajayi makes interesting West Brom dressing room reveal

|

Semi Ajayi has praised his West Brom teammates as the best group he has been involved with in his career as they look to win promotion to the Premier League.

The centre-back only joined the Baggies ahead of the current season from relegated Rotherham for a bargain £1.5m fee but he has quickly established himself as a favourite on the terraces with his strong performances, whilst he has also chipped in with five goals in the league.

With no football to focus on now due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Ajayi, like every player up and down the country, has had a lot of free time and he decided to answer some questions via his Instagram yesterday. One of those put to the towering defender was the best thing about playing for Albion and he made it clear that he has a lot of time for his fellow players who clearly ensured he settled quickly.

My teammates. Genuinely the best changing room I’ve ever been in. And I’ve been in some good ones!”

Ajayi has been a key figure under Slaven Bilic, with the Nigerian international missing just two league games all season, and one of those was through suspension as well. Therefore, the 26-year-old, who had a spell at Arsenal earlier in his career, is sure to have an important role to play as the Baggies look to finish the job when the campaign does eventually resume.

Bilic’s men are currently second in the table but importantly hold a six-point lead over Fulham in the race for automatic promotion, although the Cottagers do have to visit The Hawthorns in what could be a potentially defining fixture.
