Report: 10-goal West Brom speedster set to make long-awaited first-team return for Easter

|

Grady Diangana is reportedly set to return to first-team action in time for Easter after months out on the injury table with a niggling back and hamstring injury.

According to The Birmingham Mail, the West Ham loanee will be back to full fitness in time for Easter, with the Championship season currently on hold until April 30th at the earliest with the coronavirus pandemic continuing to disrupt the world of sport, as well as ordinary life as we know it.

Yet whilst the pandemic has seen football across the globe come to a standstill, it has had the unusual effect of having a few positives for a number of clubs all over the world, mainly giving extra time for players to return to full fitness from injury, and West Brom are seeing this now with Diangana.

Who has scored the most Championship goals?

The speedster, who this season has been contributed 10 goals in the Championship (five goals and five assists), has had a frustrating start to 2020, with Diangana only being involved in two league games this calendar year after recovering from a back injury and picking up a hamstring problem against Stoke City.

Yet the lack of football this month, as well as training, has had a seemingly positive effect on Diangana’s recovery time, with the winger now set to be fully fit if the Championship resumes on its current planned date of April 30th, and this will be a major boost for the Baggies in their final few games of the season.

West Brom will be keen to claim one of the two automatic promotion spots in the league, and with Diangana fully fit and in the squad, the Baggies will have the added firepower and pace they need to close out the season in fine form with the England youth international back amongst the team.
