It’s being reported that head coach Tony Pulis will target Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Helder Costa this summer.

It’s not the first time we have been linked with Carvalho as he was reportedly a target last summer but we were unable to get a deal across the line for the 25 year old who was part of Portugal’s European Championship success with his club declaring he wasn’t for sale.

The speculation returns via the Birmingham Mail who report that Pulis headed out to Portugal over the weekend to personally scout him before finalising on this summers dealings.

It’s also suggested that Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson could be on our shortlist should they be relegated from the Premier League season although that speculation is thin on the ground.

The same outlet also suggested that West Brom are 4/1 favourites in some bookies to take Costa from our Black Country neighbours.

The 23 year old has enjoyed an impressive first season at the Molineux following his loan arrival over the summer that turned permanent in January, and with a return of 12 goals in 40 appearances it’s believed that under our new ownership the fact they paid £13million for him wouldn’t deter us.

With all the transfer talk around the club, it could well be an interesting summer on the speculation front.
