Head coach Tony Pulis and assistant Dave Kemp have both been speaking to the media following the one all draw with Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

Beginning with Pulis, who was quoted by wba.co.uk from his post game interviews, for him it was a case of two points lost as he felt we had deserved victory on the day.

‘The really pleasing thing is that we have played three really good sides and come back to get something, which shows great character and that is what I look for in my teams. We played some good football at times and created some wonderful chances. Hugo Lloris pulled off a great save from Jonas Olsson`s chance.’

He also had brief praise for James McClean.

‘James has become a favourite here at The Hawthorns through his challenges and the way he picks up the ball. He started sloppy and gave the first two balls away but I have been delighted with him and he has been fantastic for us.’

Kemp’s interview with a little bit longer, judging from the available quotes I can see, but from the looks of it Pulis was suffering with a bit of a cold so only did a brief television interview, whilst Kemp took on the written press conference.

‘We’re pleased with the performance. We’ve gone behind again, as we did against West Ham and Arsenal, and we’ve come back with a good performance. You end up disappointed you haven’t won, which we also felt at West Ham. We’re pleased with the performances, obviously it’s not part of the plan to go a goal down, but when you look at it, we’re pleased with the comeback and to play well and take the game to these teams. Hopefully we can keep it going. We look like we’ve got a bit of energy in the team now, coming back when we’re behind, it doesn’t mean we’re out of the game, we have the confidence to keep going. It’s all good as far as we’re concerned, we’d like a few more points out of these games but we’ve got five and it’s on to the next one.’

As for Hugo Lloris’ save from Jonas Olsson that Pulis picked up on, Kemp went on to add.

‘It was a fantastic save. It has kept them in the game. They beat us 3-0 last year and it looked very comfortable but he actually made two fantastic saves there as well. He probably likes coming here.’

McClean also came in for praise from him as well.

‘He has been playing ever so well and goals are probably what he hasn’t brought to the team. He got a terrific goal here and hopefully he can go on and score a few more. We’ve been very pleased with him. His performances have been excellent. He’s been fantastic. I don’t think anyone was doing somersaults when we signed him and felt he was going to have a big influence here but he has been tremendous. He’s part of the group, sets the tone for the rest of the team with his energy and his performances have been top class.’

Former Manchester United defender and summer signing Jonny Evans was also picked out for praise following his own performance in the game.

‘He’s been excellent since he’s been here, he’s been first class, a top-quality player. That’s the third different position he’s played in and he’s been excellent in all three.’
