Dean Kiely will make his first start of the season in Monday night’s game against QPR as Scott Carson begins his three-match ban.

Vital Quotes:

Former England keeper Carson is determined to learn from his mistake against Cardiff:

“There ‘s nothing I can do and I’m definitely not going to kick up a fuss about anything like that. I know what I’ve done and I am big enough to take that on the chin. I will just put it to the back of my mind and move on but try to learn from my mistakes.”

West Brom Team News:

Dean Kiely’s first start of the season shows the faith that Roberto Di Matteo has in our trusted keeper. With the promise of regular first-team football up for grabs, Dean Kiely has the chance now to prove his worth.

It has also been confirmed that 17-year-old goalkeeper Ryan Allsop will be on the bench for the QPR clash.

The former England Under-17s international has been brought in as cover for Kiely during Carson’s three-match suspension and will wear shirt No.39.

Player to watch: Jerome Thomas

Thomas looks likely to return along with Luke Moore and strengthen a front-line that looked a little stuck for ideas against Cardiff on Tuesday.

QPR Team News:

Akos Buzsaky is in the QPR squad for the game. The Hungarian midfielder, who clashed with manager Jim Magilton and got locked out of the dressing room after Monday night’s defeat at Watford, will probably be on the bench.

Player to watch: Jay Simpson

Jay Simpson will be returning to The Hawthorns after bailing out on the relegated side at the end of last season – let’s hope it’s humble pie all round for Jay
