Academy graduate Liam O’Neil has today brought his time with the club to an end and signed a new permanent deal with Chesterfield.

The versatile 22 year old midfielder moves to the League One club for an undisclosed fee and leaves have made a total of five first team appearances since joining us back at the age of 16 year’s old and working his way through the youth levels.

He made his Albion debut back in March 2014 as a late substitute in the two one victory over Swansea and his two starts came against Hull and Bournemouth in last season’s Capital One Cup competition.

Having spent time on loan with Scunthorpe last season as well, before injury brought that spell to an end, he made 22 appearances for them, scoring twice. Only one of those appearances was as a substitute.

Hopefully it’ll be a good move for the lad and he can really get his career going now.
