Ahead of tonight’s Capital One Cup game, the expected second bid from Tottenham Hotspur has arrived.

Having reportedly bid £15-18million originally, it was reported last night that a second bid was in or was in the process of being put in, and that second bid was valued around the £22million mark – still £3million short of the believed valuation of Saido Berahino, which according to the press is at least £25million.

A second statement from the club and chairman Jeremy Peace read simply.

‘Our position remains unchanged. The sale of this player is not on our agenda.’

This of course follows on from Berahino’s own transfer request which was equally denied.

Really does feel like it’s only a matter of time before the two clubs agree a fee now and if that happens at least this long running saga can be put to bed.
