Steve Clarke has said that Goran Popov’s debut is on hold after he suffered a slight groin strain in training.

Speaking to wba.co.uk about the season long loanee, Clarke said.

‘I went to Scotland and watched Goran play, I thought he played well. Unfortunately on Friday he picked up a little groin strain in training. We’ve now given him a couple of days to go back to Kiev and empty his flat and sort his personal life. The groin strain could keep him out for a week to ten days.’

Until he returns on Tuesday, Clarke admits he won’t know for sure if he’s out of the game or not, but he’ll be fully assessed before any decision is made.
