Romelu Lukaku has restated his love of Albion after being voted our Player of the Month for January.

The Chelsea loanee grabbed his 10th league goal of the season against Liverpool and said he was having a ‘wonderful season’ when he picked up the Zoopla award.

Speaking to wba.co.uk the striker said.

‘I am very happy with the award, it means I was playing well but now I have to keep going. I want to thank the fans, the players, my family, the gaffer and all the staff for their help and hopefully we can go on and get better results. I will enjoy this one, but for me, it’s about the team.’

One thing that always comes across in Lukaku’s interviews is he always seems focused not on what he has done, but what he wants to do. He’s always talking about more improvement, better performances, better results and it is very refreshing to hear such professionalism and a desire to continue to learn from such a young lad.

He’s going to leave a big gap at Albion when he departs back to Chelsea sadly.

He’s also focused on getting us as close to, if not in, the European places come the end of the season.

‘The league is long and we have 12 games to go. Everything can change and now it’s up to us. We are in a good position and the European spots are right in front of us. They’re not far away and we have to be realistic, we have the players to do it.’
